James: (to himself) The life I've built, the comfort, the security... but is it all just sixpence? And what about the moon?

(He stops at a street lamp and looks up at the crescent moon.)

James: (contemplating) Perhaps it's time to find my own path.

Scene 2: An Art Gallery, Evening

(Charles Strickland is sketching in an art gallery. Mary enters.)

Mary: Charles, darling! What are you doing here?

Charles: (not looking up) Just sketching, Mary.

Mary: (concerned) Charles, you've been like this for days. Are you okay?

Charles: (finally looks up) I am fine, Mary. It's just... I have to do this.

Mary: (sighs) Do what? Leave everything behind?

Charles: Yes.

Mary: (tearfully) But why? You have a family now!

Charles: (firmly) Because I have to find my own way.

Scene 3: A Parisian Café, Morning

(Charles and Rachel are sitting at a café table.)

Rachel: (softly) Are you sure about this?

Charles: Yes, more than ever.

Rachel: (hugging him) I love you, no matter what.

(He takes out a small bag of money from his pocket.)

Charles: This is for us both. Take care of yourself and our son.

Rachel: (crying) Thank you...

(Charles stands up and walks away from the table.)

Scene 4: A Remote Island, Sunset

(Charles has left civilization behind and is living on a remote island. He is painting by the beach.)

James Strickland arrives on the island.

James: (to himself) So this is where he went...

(Charles notices James approaching.)

James: My name is James Strickland. Your brother's brother.
